Joao Guarantani works for the British Council in a role that gives him responsibility for promoting art in 47 countries around the world. This is formed into 3 main showcases, International Fashion, International Architecture and Design Connections.
His aim is to ‘Increase the dialogue between countries to increase the opportunities of working on projects abroad’ and detailed amongst many, a project in the ‘Ice Lab’ where a blend of new architecture and science created a new generation of arctic based buildings for people working in polar areas of extreme cold.
There were many international projects the British Council undertakes and Joao outlined many of them. I was impressed with the broad diversity of the projects and was unaware before the talk and just what has been achieved.
It was a very informative talk if again a little too long.
